    JÜRGEN KARASEK ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF THE AUSTRIAN FILM ACADEMY

    We’re very happy that Jürgen Karasek has been elected to the board of the Austrian Film Academy for the next two years. The new board was unanimously elected by its full members during the General Assembly on January 15, 2026. We’re looking forward to see Jürgen contribute his experience and perspective to shaping the future of Austrian film alongside fellow board members and colleagues from across the industry.

    Our documentary DISAPPEARING (Audience Award Diagonale 2022) by Andrina Mračnikar will be broadcast on ORF for the first time: on December 16, 2025, the film will air at 12:00 a.m. on ORF2.

    “do magic” receives production support from öfi, ffw and orf

    We are very happy that our documentary DO MAGIC by Vera Lacková has received production support from the Austrian Film Institute, the Vienna Film Fund, and the ORF Film-/Fernsehabkommen. In co-production country Slovakia (with our partner kerekesfilm), we have already secured production commitments from the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, HBO Europe, and Eriac. Production will start in 2026.

    Our first season of the ORF series UMADUM IN AUSTRIA by Alice Karasek, which presents customs, dialects, music, and food from various regions of the country, will air starting December 13, 2025, on ORF Kids! The premiere focuses on the bilingual town of Parndorf and the Burgenland Croatian community.

    Following the release of the first season in early 2024, our series KLIMAKRACH will return for a second season on ORF. The project is now also receiving financial support from RTR. The second season is scheduled to air in spring 2026.

    “Perfect Place” closes financing

    We are very happy to announce that we’ve closed financing for our documentary PERFECT PLACE by award-winning Ukrainian director Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk. The co-production with Ukrainian partner Mellivora Production is an in-depth portrait of an actor during wartime and is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Culture, Media and Sport, City of Vienna Culture, Zukunftsfonds of the Republic of Austria, the Ukranian Film Academy & Netflix.

    Our documentary RAID by Kristina Leidenfrostova is in production. The Austrian-Slovakian co-production (co-partner: Guča Films) about a Roma family in Slovakia suffering from the consequences of police violence is supported by the Austrian Ministry of Culture, Media and Sports, ÖFIplus, City of Vienna Culture, Burgenland Culture, Zukunftsfonds of the Republic of Austria, Slovak Audiovisual Fund, KultMinor, and the Slovak Cash Rebate.

    Our new project DO MAGIC by director Vera Lacková had its third and final session of the Ex-Oriente workshop in Prague, where it was pitched to the international industry as part of the East Doc Forum. The project is being developed with support from ÖFI and Filmfonds Wien on the Austrian side.

    “Together we grow” starts shooting on 16mm

    Filming will soon begin on 16mm for our documentary TOGETHER WE GROW by director Ruth Kaaserer about two activist seed farmers in Philadelphia. The project is financially supported by BMWKMS, ÖFIplus, ORF Film-/Fernsehabkommen, Land Tirol Kultur, Stadt Wien Kultur, Land Salzburg Tirol and the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
